Original title: 無限斜棟有限公司.
Show Rec: “Generation Slash” 《無限斜棟有限公司》
Currently airing on ViuTV and starring Ian Chan (of boy group MIRROR), Amy Lo, and Himmy Wong, “Generation Slash” is about three Hong Kong youths who have gathered under Unlimited Slash Ltd., an agency that aims to help people by taking any and all sorts of cases and requests that were sent their way. The three main characters represents many of the current situation that the young generation in Hong Kong is experiencing: educated, talented in various ways, work multiple jobs, yet struggle to make ends meet, or feel empty, lost, and unfulfilled in some ways.
Ian Chan as 張諾恆/Cheung NokHang He’s a self-proclaimed many titles: food deliveryman, singer/songwriter, artist, e-sports athlete etc etc. He has many interests and dabs in a variety of jobs, but nothing seems to hold his attention long enough for him to develop a career in, so when he finds himself literally homeless after his father sold their shared apartment and moved to mainland, NokHang accidentally found and sort-of-illegally stayed at the detective agency office owned by Chan GaHei. After helping an old couple out together, they formed Unlimited Slash Ltd.; initially NokHang only encourages GaHei to create the agency just so he can keep living in the office space, but eventually he becomes very invested with the cases and their clients as well.
Amy Lo as 陳家晞/Chan GaHei A university graduate and owner of various diplomas and certificates, GaHei constantly feels unfulfilled despite her education in multiple fields. She was raised by her aunt as her parents abandoned her since she was young, so part of her really wants to feel needed by others. On her 24th birthday, she’s told that she’s inherited her father’s detective agency. She plans to sell the office space, but after NokHang shows her the case files her father had worked on, and manages to rope her into helping an elderly couple, GaHei is convinced that this is her chance to create a space where people who need help can come to seek assistance from them.
Himmy Wong as 李展翹/Lee JinKiu Initially joined the police force as per his father’s wishes, JinKiu soon grows sick of his supervisor and partner’s bullshit awful-ness, and he rage-quits, which makes his father really mad. He then starts a new job as a rich man’s bodyguard, which is also when he runs into GaHei and NokHang again. Working as a bodyguard isn’t ideal for him, so when GaHei invites him to join Unlimited Slash Ltd. since they can really use his investigative/detective skills, JinKiu eventually does join them as the third member of the agency, though he sometimes questions the duo’s methods.
The show’s on Youtube guys, and I know it doesn’t have English subs but it does have Chinese subs, so if you don’t understand Cantonese but can read Chinese... y’know, it’s worth a watch!~
Also if they don’t become an OT3 by the end of the show then what’s even the point???
New show from ViuTV I’m watching right now - “Generation Slash”.
One protag is like: uni graduate with multiple diplomas and still can’t find a steady full-time job.
The other protag is like: has multiple part-time jobs and still has a hard time earning a comfortable living.
Relatable as fuck? uh yes.
