I think it's super funny when your vocabulary rubs off on other people especially when those people are much older than you.
I say "oki"/"okie" a lot in text messages and when I'm speaking because I find it fun to say and it feels way less formal/blunt that "okay" (depending on the context ofc)
My gen X mother has picked up on this and has started also saying "okie" when she's texting in the family group chat.
I don't know how much of it is a conscious effort to connect with me & my siblings and how much is her just picking up language to use in the ever-evolving familect (linguistics term for the specific language families use with each other, like a dialect but on a much smaller scale). Either way, I kind of love it.
