assignment: A0 week 9 sketch | a prop in Environment Design in 2 different perspectives as a 2D asset in an existing game
prop i used was from last week's sketch: the utility hoverboard, from snideon!
was looking for a unique art style to try to mimic for this week! i decided to choose genesis noir, which has very straight lines, disconnected lineart pieces, small gradients and textures, etc.
also, instead of drawing it isolated from a background in 2 different perspectives by themselves, i found it was easier to draw it in the context of a background, so that's what i did!
i think i did a decent job at mimic-ing it! takes a few passes to see the items i drew in, and if there were other props in the background, it would be harder to find.
improvements: i probably could've added some more props and environmental pieces to disguise it, also i think some of the lines are too close together on the hoverboard on the right, it makes it stand out in the style. also, it looks like they are using some photorealistic shaders for the water reflections, so i could've incorporated that more!
important note: background art is from genesis noir, i only drew on top of it!
