barbara wasn’t too fond of working with other people--especially when it came to group homework assignments. it was easier for her to complete the task by herself, than rely on someone else to get the job done. but this was mandatory; this project was thirty five percent of their grade, && even she couldn’t get out of being a lone wolf.

            ❛     alright, so, i’m free tonight, && friday night. we’ll have to get this done this week. if anything i can finish myself over the weekend.    ❜      she would pull out her ap chemistry book, flash cards, highlighters, && notebook.       

          ❛     we can make a chemical mixture that can remove stains, or                 somethin’ like what chemical will break down metal faster. but                 that’s only some ideas. or even try to make our own chemical                 compound to show to the class. we do have to do a presentation.      ❜

          As soon as Jazz noticed Peter regaining consciousness she felt relieved enough to start lecturing him. All of her concern over his well-being had been building up since he’d been knocked out by one of Danny’s enemies that he fruitlessly tried to go after and was now being encoded into her critiquing his methods of heroism.

          “What is with you guys and your disregard for your own safety?” She bagan, not bothering to consider how Peter would be waking up to the unfamiliar gaudy lighting and ominous interior of her parents’ lab -- or how he had no way of knowing Jazz had figured out his secret identity before the events of that afternoon. “Next time you see a big scary ghost, you should let the ghost boy handle it.” She said from the chair next to the lab table that Peter had been resting on. She was half-facing him, carefully reorganizing and putting away her parents’ medical kit.

          “You know -- just because you guys have the power to help people, it doesn’t make you some sort of sacrificial lamb.”

❝ i really enjoyed tonight. ❞     it wasn’t often they got to spend time like this.   wasn’t often either of them really took the time.   dinner,  a movie.   it seemed so--  normal.

“  I  DON’T  THINK  THAT’S  THE  RIGHT  ELEMENT,  PETER  . . .      are  you  sure ??  ”       skeptic  eyes  skim  over  the  lab  instructions,     triple  checking  that  they  were  doing  things  according  to  their  hypothesis.      while  scientific  discovery  saw  merit  in  both  proven  and  disproven  speculations  because  it  means  furthering  the  importance  of  said  scientific  discovery,     it  did  nothing  for  courtney’s  obsession  with  being    RIGHT    a  hundred  percent  of  the  time.
