You know thinking about it, if Gengetsu didn't die in that mutually assured destruction duel with the Tsuchikage Muu, then he might have stuck around as Mizukage long into the mainline Naruto era. Which leads to the funny thought experiment of Obito attempting to place a mind genjutsu on that guy of all people. Fucking Gengetsu. Mister Clam Genjutsu Himself. Obito trying to get Gengetsu of all people. Peak comedy kinda duel actually...
