Was thinking about the way the khr anime adaption censored a lot of the more gruesome details and one of those details that stands out to me is Genkishis death.

So I’m gonna put these here for anyone who wasn’t aware of how brutal that death actually was. The way they portrayed those bellflowers in the anime was visually underwhelming, especially in comparison to them growing so densely inside his body it completely tears him apart.

It really adds into how nasty that betrayal was. It’s also why everyone watching the match was so horrified to witness Genkishis death. It wasn’t just because Byakuran casually killed one of his own, it was how excessively graphic and painful it was.

Amano generally does horror visuals really well, especially body horror. It’s such a shame the anime couldn’t do it justice.
