Squalo
Shark man my beloved 🥹🥹 Out of the Varia cast Squalo is probably my favourite and tbh while I will always love Hibari but when it comes to writing and exploring the character then Squalo is probably my favourite KHR character overall.
I love his character design it slaps so hard and he's just hilarious. Like, sure cut of your hand, so you can understand a fighting style. Swear your life (and hair) to this spoiled brat with anger issues and lead one of the most high end assassin squad in his name for nearly a decade. Of course my guy. You do you.
Honestly, messing around with his character and coming up with a backstory for Squalo is super fun. *slaps his shoulder* This dude can fit so much wordbuilding fr fr. Also, his dynamic with the other Varia members is also super funny and I really enjoy reading about it.

Hibari
Husband time!! Now, you know me, I'm always down to fangirl about Kyoya, because I'm a simple bean. Give me a hot guy that kicks ass and is funny and I'm down bad. Kyoya is my precious and he will always hold a special place in my heart but like I mentioned in a way he's sharing first place with Squalo LOL
Mostly because for Kyoya is just enjoy looking. I'm clocking in to the ObjectFactory and I'm doing overtime. Meaning I will always drool over Kyoya in any way or form when he graces me with his presence (no matter if it's manga, anime, fanart or merch I will take all forms of Kyoya) but he's not a character that occupies my mind like others do.
Now this might be related to the fact that I don't write in canon time line but I just don't have the urge to write him? Like I probably won't ever write in his POV because I wouldn't even know where to start to get his voice down but even in outsider POV I just... don't see the need. Kyoya for me is just a character I like to observe. In a sense this is quite freeing and relaxing for me because I just fangirl about him with zero braincells. Others might have a different stance to this but I firmly belief that you can like a character just for the sake of liking them. I don't microwave Kyoya in my head on a daily basis but when I read the manga and he turns up he makes me happy and cracks me up every time without fail, so he's still my fav in my heart.

Spanner
Now tbh I don't have super strong feelings about Spanner but I will always be fond of most science characters by default. Like... Science isn't something I live for but it's been a very big part of my life over the years, so even when I have conflicting feelings about it regarding to my future I still cherish my experiences in the field. And this translates to fictional characters as well. You can often catch my interest by having a character be a scientist, simply because I know these guys. I've been them. So, I feel a connection to them even if all I have for them is a name, design and science specialisation LOL
In general Spanner is also just such a cool guy? The way he helps Tsuna develop the X-Burner just because he wants to see the final result is just peak comedy, like what the hell dude, go off committing treason purely out of curiousity. A fucking legend.
