According to my headcanon, women- especially in the past, usually wore their hair long. Long hair has always been considered a more traditionally feminine trait.

That's why, when fem!Squalo swore her loyalty to fem!Xanxus, she cut off her long hair right in front of her. It was a symbolic gesture: by doing so, she left her past behind and devoted herself entirely to fem!Xanxus. At that moment, she also vowed that she wouldn't grow her hair long again until Xanxus became the boss of the Vongola.

Years later, she simply cut it even shorter for the sake of practicality.

My next assignment was to draw Belphegor at night, not far from the Vongola headquarters. In this scene, he was spotted near the headquarters the night before Tsunayoshi Sawada disappeared!

Belphegor was suspiciously close to the Vongola headquarters that night. And there weren’t any meetings or gatherings scheduled that day!

Did he know something about the upcoming kidnapping? Or was the Varia really involved in Sawada’s disappearance? After all, everyone knows that Xanxus once tried to take the position of Vongola Boss for himself. Was this another rebellion? Or was the Varia actually trying to prevent the kidnapping?

The answer will remain classified - mafia secrets aren’t meant to be revealed!

Overall, I was lucky enough to create three fully finished artworks featuring Belphegor. I’d say that’s a success, ha!

This zine had an overarching story where each character played a specific role. The main plot centered around the disappearance of Tsunayoshi Sawada. Each artist drew their chosen character in different situations, showing what they were doing while the investigation and search for the 10 Vongola were underway.

For my assignment, I had to draw Belphegor in a security room filled with surveillance cameras. What was he doing there? He had been given an order: switch all the cameras - turn some of them off and redirect others to show the view outside.

Did Xanxus give that order? Maybe…

Was the Varia responsible for Sawada’s disappearance?

Or perhaps Belphegor himself decided to get rid of the annoying Tsunayoshi?..

In another Reborn zine, I happily drew Belphegor! Honestly, I’d never drawn Belphegor as a full, finished piece before. But I really loved how it turned out!

On the one hand, Belphegor’s hairstyle means I don’t have to draw his eyes (which saves me some extra trouble). But on the other hand… his hair was actually hard to draw! I don’t even know why it was so difficult. Still, I think it turned out really cool!
