Genticorum - Les Cousinages
On my wedding night, guess what I remember? Someone knocked on my door. My wife said it was her cousin.
Pretty one, set the table with the best wine, and make him a bed near mine.
But around midnight, my wife jumped out of bed and slept in the arms of her dear cousin. [She slept, he slept, in the arms of their dear cousin.]
When you have a pretty wife, all the men are her cousins.
Transcription and translation mine. If anyone who knows French wants to pick it apart, this is what I got from the singing, minus the repeated lines and nonsense refrains (I'd put it under a readmore, but apparently I can't do that when it's not a text post.)
. .something I can't make out] Ma femme a dit que ses son cousin
I wish I could find the studio version of this online. Maybe I should actually get around to buying music again.
