Part 1/?
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
The digital alarm clock on his bedside reads 3:34 AM; Kiryu groans into his pillow. Who shows up at someones house in the middle of the night?
"Hey! Lemme in!" Majima's voice calls out, trying the doorhandle a few times.
Oh, that's who.
Kiryu gets out of bed with a sigh, rubbing his eyes, a sorry attempt of getting the sleep out. He stumbles a bit—dizzy from getting up too fast—and pads across the living room to unlock the front door. He opens it irritably, but before he can get any words out, he takes in Majima's appearance; A black eye, his lip bloodied and bruised, and his eyepatch missing.
His eyes widen with concern, stepping aside to let him in. He glances behind him to see if he was followed—he wasn't. Majima enters the apartment, closing the door behind him. Kiryu reaches to turn on the light—
Kiryu nods, placing a warm hand on his back to guide him to the couch. "Sit." He says simply, his voice rough with sleep. Majima listens, slowly lowering himself onto the couch, grimacing as he does so. "What happened?" Kiryu asks, striding over to the freezer to grab an ice pack. He wraps it in a cloth so it won't be too cold on Majima's skin.
Majima accepts the ice pack, placing it over his black eye. "Got jumped..." He responds, sighing, "Lost." He shakes his head, dissapointed in himself. Kiryu grabs another cloth and wets it under the tap, he wrings it out before bringing it to Majima's cuts.
"How many guys?" Kiryu questions while wiping blood off his face, trying not to hurt him. Majima gnaws on his lip, avoiding making eye contact, "Five or six... dunno. Think I broke a jaw or two. Came here 'cus they busted up my good eye." He answers dejectedly, wincing as the cloth brushes over an open wound.
Kiryu pulls away, looking all over his face for more blood, "I can see that. Do you need me to take you to the hospital?"
"Me? Hospital?" Majima snorts, "Naw. I'm okay. Need ya to drive me home though." Kiryu stares at him silently, thinking. He brushes hair out of his face and stares at his revealed eye scar. Even after all the years of knowing eachother, he doesn't recall ever seeing under his eyepatch. He blinks, "Stay tonight."
"Wha? I couldn't-" Kiryu cuts him off, "Stay, you need rest. I'm not so sure you'll do that if I let you go."
Majima bounces his leg—a nervous tick of his, Kiryu's noticed. He meets Kiryu's eyes for a moment, then lets out a defeated sigh, laying against the back of the couch. "Fine. But I'm takin' the couch."
As he's speaking, Kiryu's already in the closet, digging out a spare futon and dragging it to his bedroom. He lays it directly next to his own, plopping a spare pillow on top. He realizes he doesn't have a spare blanket, but figures his blanket is big enough to share—he'll give Majima the whole thing if need be.
Majima leans against his bedroom doorframe, one hand on his hip. "Don't like ta listen, do ya?" He laughs, pushing himself off the doorframe, "Good thing I'm exhausted." He enters the room, and Kiryu notices the slight limp in his step. He frowns.
They both sit on their futons, staring at eachother for a moment. Kiryu tilts his head, admiring Majima. "I've never seen your eye before." He blurts, instinctively reaching out his fingers—he stops himself before he gets too close. Majima nods as if to say it's okay.
Kiryu's fingers lightly brush over the scarred flesh—Majima shivers at the touch. "I think it's cool, you know." He states genuinely, pulling his hand back, "Shows you're strong." Majima looks away, shaking his head, "Naw. Any good yakuza woulda-" Kiryu cuts him off by gently grabbing his chin and pulling it back toward him. "I'm serious, Majima." He says softly.
"O-Oh." Majima's cheeks heat up, his ears turning a light pink. He pauses, gazing down at Kiryu's lips, "Thanks. Nobody's ever said that." Kiryu just smiles. He grabs the blanket and pulls it over the both of them, laying down, "If you need me in the morning, wake me up, okay?"
Majima nods, laying down next to him. He stares up at the ceiling, a weird fluttery feeling filling his stomach. He knows the feeling, he's had it once before.
