Over the course of all of this going on, Haru had avoided anyone that she knew from their friendship circle.
She couldn’t bring herself to look at other sad faces, and neither would she be able to force herself to look like she was okay.
A smile was not something she could force herself to make anymore.
Finding herself on the bench that she was at in the park a few days ago, she watched people running around the park having fun.
Looking happy.
Something she was days before, and she couldn’t remember how that felt.
Just about nothing could bring her any happiness.
The world was only out to give her more fear and pain.
Haru heard a quiet ringtone going off. Without even looking at the caller ID, she just picked it up, expecting the worst.
At this point, she was getting quite used to this.
Phone calls were not something for her to look forward to anymore.
They were not a way to say hello to friends… but to say goodbye.
A rather… one-sided goodbye.
“I see… so this time Yuni-chan has died. Thank you… for telling me.”
Pinching the bridge of her nose, she let out a low hiss.
Due to all of her stress and her lack of sleep, she’s been constantly ridden with headaches.
The poor girl had now developed a minor dependence on sleeping medication and pain killers.
The sleeping medication originally belonged to her father who had trouble sleeping on days before major conferences but Haru had taken them for her own use as she couldn’t sleep through normal means and escape from the horrible nightmares.
The voice on the other end of the phone whispered something into her ear.
Feeling the blood leave her face, she dropped her phone onto the bench and she ran off as quickly as her feet could take her.
The words:
‘Tsunayoshi Sawada is next you know~’ rang through her ears like an ominous preminition.
