Well it made sense at least.
Lapis didn’t really get the appeal of massive overkill weapons. He thought he’d seen the upper end of it with Reynard’s enormous anti-material battleax and that kid in the red hood with the ridiculous scythe twice her size but then came the swords as big as most of the students. At least those were wielded by people who looked like they should be using them.
And this particular wielder was built like a skyscraper. A lot of the academy regulars were tall, even the teachers. This made tall feel inadequate. He had a foot and a half on Lapis easily. Not the kind of guy he wanted to cross in a fight.
The problem was that he was sort of in the way. Idly standing near an entryway isn’t something someone that size should be doing. “Hey.” He calls out, trying to get the giant’s attention.
