Our super-chicken, Cheeks, is in for minor surgery today to see what’s going on in, ironically, her cheek! She’s seen two vets so far, the first who treated her for a sinus infection and the second who said it was maybe a soft tissue tumor and nothing could be done. We suspected a visit to the wonderful Dr. Speer was in order for another opinion (he’s the BOMB when it comes to birds...seriously an avian genius, and hilarious to boot) and took her to @medicalcenterforbirds in Oakley. He’s doing a procedure today to sedate her and open her up as it may be more of a blocked and/or infected tear duct.
