haha ur gr8 goodd person we should talk more often
To Gent (And Gent's mod by extension)
I was only just now told about the awful anon hate you got earlier, and it sickens me to think that people can live with themselves, sending horrible things like that to you. I have no idea why people think they can pick on you and send you such hateful things, and I have no idea why you're a prime target for anon hate.
I can't erase the hurtful words, but perhaps I can soothe the sting with some nice words of my own.
Gent, I've followed you since pretty much the very beginning. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. What all those anons who heap hate and disgusting words upon you say...they're wrong. They're dead wrong. I've met a lot of people in this fandom, and I have to say you're one of the sweetest askblogs (and people!) I know. You opened your arms to this fandom. "Married" it in a way. You've offered kind words and generous support to anyone who asks (and even when they don't, you send a kind word through fanmail or asks for sometimes no reason at all. Trust me, I've kept the ones you've sent me, even months after you sent them!) And in the myriad of shipping and interacting with new people, of course you're going to change a little bit. You're expanding your horizons, branching out and talking to new people. That would change anyone. But guess what? You're having fun while doing it, and that's all that matters. This is your blog, and anyone who doesn't like it can unfollow you. Simple as that.
But the hate you get for all the sweetness and compassion you offer...it's not fair. I don't understand why fingers point at you a lot, and I fail to see what good it can bring to others to say such things. You're not the only one they hurt. They also hurt us, your loyal and loving fans, by saying such mean things.
And who cares if your art isn't exactly the most amazing thing on the planet? I'm not an artist. I never claimed to be one, nor will I ever. But I personally think your drawings are incredibly cute. They might not be Ayane's or Sho's, but they hold character and charm to them, in the way you only can provide. And to be honest, I think you've improved since your first public drawing on Gent's blog. That's something to be proud of, and I'm not just saying any of that to suck up to you, like some people might think. I genuinely believe it.
Long story short, Gent, there are lots of people who love your blog and who love you. Even if I don't get to talk to you much, I've come to think of you as a dear friend of mine, one I'm incredibly protective of and if anyone dares to say mean things to you, you can be sure I'm there at your side, offering my support. And honestly, it might be a good idea to turn anon off for a little while. It doesn't have to be a permanent thing, but at least until the hate slacks off, you know?
I love you, Mister Once-ler, and will for a very long time to come. Perhaps sometime you can drop by for tea and cookies with me, and we can get to know each other a little better?
Sincerely,
Jen (all-american-oncest)
