Okay, here it goes, in no particular order, because picking absolute favourites is something I'll never learn
1. Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick, basically it's half written half drawn and it's really cool
3. The Bridge by Manfred Gregor, this book is about these young German boys at the end of WWII who go into the army and have to defend this bridge by themselves and I don't think I've ever been so impressed and touched by a story.
4. Temeraire by Naomi Novik, okay so this is a book set in the Napoleon times, so England is at war with France, and it tells about that war, but with DRAGONS! And quite frankly it is one of the coolest books ever in my opinion. (plus, it's a series.. there's 8 amazing books, and the 9th is coming out next year)
5. The knife of never letting go by Patrick Ness, basically it's about this boy who lives in a town where there are no women, and where everyone can hear each others thoughts. it's really cool.
6. Cinder by Marissa Meyer, it's a retelling of Cinderella, in which Cinder is a cyborg and there's a lot of intrigue and stuff, and the next books in the series are other fairytales, like little red riding hood.
7. The aftermath by Rhidian Brook, it's about life in German just after the second world war. Germany is in ruins and English soldiers get the houses of Germans. This colonol however decides to share his house with the Germans whose house it actually is, instead of kicking them out.
8. The messenger by Markus Zusak, this cabdriver called Ed gets these cards telling him what to do, and he does it and makes other people happy and this isn't a good explanation, just read it.
9. William Shakespeare, alle vertellingen by Vladimir Hulpach, okay so basically this is pretty much all the Shakespeare plays, written down in like fairytales kind of style, with drawings and it's really really awesome. Still haven't found an english version of it though
10.The book thief by Markus Zusak, I mean, you all know this one right?
Okay, so I recommend basically all of these books and especially The Bridge because it is really awesome.
