Lowkey I’ve been thinking about those normalized Yandere aus and I think they’re fun in theory, but sometimes the execution leaves me iffy!

Like I would love to see the “Darlings” being more than just the perfect victims in stories, y’know those soft, curvy (white-coded) people that entice all the Yandere around them. Also I’m a rather scientific person (rewrote my own Omegaverse because that shi got me annoyed lowkey 😭) and the concept of Darlings being a genetic thing actually makes no sense to me??

I understand that a significant portion of personality and traits are genetic, and whatever isn’t directly inherited is caused by your experiences. But the whole Yandere/Darling genetics thing feels like it could fit more neatly into a personality disorder that’s been widely accepted and normalized rather than a genetics thing. I’d prefer a whole “They act this way because EVERYONE does and it’s what is taught in schools and at home”, not because it’s a ‘mutation’ that makes people act like either the perfect victim and the captor.

I feel like making Darlings and Yandere a genetic factor feels kinda lazy, because it could be so cool to see a system where people get divided based on early childhood traits that they show, and sure their designation might change as they grow older, but that could be rare because of how differently Darlings and Yanderes are taught, y’know?

All in all this is just me wanting an Mc in the normalized Yandere aus to be less Victim-coded (god that sounds bad) and more like an anomaly that the other Yanderes and Darlings are trying to shove into their “perfect” system.

Plus imagine the laws in a normalized Yandere au?? That stuff has got me so interested. It’s disappointing because this genre has so much potential but it feels like people are using it to romanticize Yanderes (which I just found out green flag Yanderes exist???) and not to tell a story about the horrors of losing your autonomy to someone who wants to own you body, mind, and even soul.

Small update. ill probably posting less frequently. I did want to join in four stab fest but I don’t think I can get done in a short amount of time. I’ll do that after the trend dies.

I do want to take more breaks. For my thanksgiving weekend I spent the time working. It will be pretty beneficial for my art. There’s something lacking in my art; it has no soul.

I’ll still open comms since I doubt nobody wastes their money on my junk. For content that will be out soon is the information page about the Lu pngtubers(I spent two days writing my script)and maybe I can get my Ko-fi banner done this week.

If, for some fuckass reason, KOSA gets passed in the United States, would y'all be open to me sending out my Steddie content via mail?

Just typing up my shit, editing it to the best of my ability, and then sending it off. Like I could create a whole spreadsheet for emails/addresses and such.

I just don't want to lose the community on here if KOSA is passed. And I may have to keep it to shipping within the United States, if I do it by mail. But if I were to open up my email, I could also send PDFs.

What are the thoughts on this? Fair warning, it wouldn't be coming from a PO Box. So, just know like my deadname and such would be on the envelope. And obviously, I am trusting people in this community to have common human decency and respect.

So, if this is something that sounds interesting, let me know. But, hopefully—and I truly mean that—KOSA won't be passed and we could live our simple little online lives. Never know, though. America is complete and utter bullshit.

I'm reading School-Live, and I'm really identifying with Yuki, albeit at an odd impasse of thought. The way she acts, her excitement just to be around people she loves and to do things with them, reflects back to memories I have of being...well, seven or eight years old, not in my last year of high school. By my last year of high school, I had seen some shit. I had everything on my mind.

But younger, childhood--Yuki is a very innocent character, she's very warm and loving, and she thrives on that. She has favorite people and she wants to be around them and talk to them--I had forgotten about how I was the same way as a kid, I would impatiently await social events because it was the time when I got to see my favorite people...most of whom were adults.

It is weird looking back, but I just didn't get along with kids. Barring a few geeks who I shared common media ground with, they didn't make sense to me, and I didn't make sense to them. Adults, on the other hand, either found me suspicious or precocious. If they found me precocious, I would happily converse with them about my interests and things I was learning about. Mom allowed me to join these conversations with relatives or church friends, sometimes mature ones--not inappropriate, but mature. Ecumenical matters, struggles with depression, theoretical pathing of adulthood.

It should have been boring, but I didn't care. I was with my favorite people. I got to spend time with them. It was all I wanted.

I guess I was a lonely child. But it gave those moments when my favorite people were there, and everyone was happy, a special kind of brightness and purpose. I felt like I was doing due diligence by my kin, that I was helping the community thrive. I had a true sense of pride and joy in that--like I was earning my keep.

It's nice to think that simply existing, if you're willing to put the thought into it, is enough to satiate having a purpose for being alive.
