Ohhhhh friendo. I read a LOT of fics. I can recommend good fics from a lot of my fandoms, and from across ship types. I read a pretty good amount of reader-insert fics too, so those are aplenty.

I love this fic/series which is like a Big Bang Theory reworking -- I used to really like the show and I'm pretty meh about it now but this fic genuinely like fixes a lot of issues I have with the show now and I like it better than many parts of the actual show
I love this fic which has Veela!Hermione x Draco -- it's a strange concept, it really is. but honestly sometimes I still go back to a real good Dramione fic (and this is one of my faves) despite not liking the OG material as much anymore either and thinking the OG author is a TERF trashbag
Speaking of fics from HP, I can also recommend these canon divergent AUs: one where Harry essentially uses Dolores like a puppet and has the ministry in the palm of his hand, and one where Harry realizes he's Lord Potter and has a lot of political and hidden powers and marries Daphne Greengrass. Both of these fics I discovered through my ex and have maintained a soft spot for. They're both the kind of fics where Harry grows some balls and becomes pretty OP, and at the very least the first one is pretty Dumbledore-bashing and Weasley-bashing for a while if I remember correctly. I enjoy them tho and I have read them a few times, if not recently.
Another is this Addams Family x HP Crossover. Just... just trust me.
I love this series which is a Fallout OC x Nick Valentine x John Hancock creation/masterpiece -- I'm just starting to reread it now bc when I first started reading it part 3 wasn't done yet and I lost track of where I was so I'm just gonna let myself get lost in it again
Speaking of Fallout, I cannot enough recommend Gaqalesqua and AbhorrentGodliness if you're into strange smut (this Arthur Maxson x Sole Survivor AU is probably my fave)

Speaking of fics that made me cry like a baby, this McSpirk Hanahaki Disease trope fic did just that last night
I am a sucker for angst sometimes, and one of my fave angst fics is this NCIS fic about Tony dealing with a significant trauma. It's VERY dark. Like please read the tags dark.
Another dark one - but in different ways - is this fic which is a Marvek Mafia AU with Bucky x Steve x Reader where Reader is saved from a shitty relationship and then Stucky straight up murder Reader's shitty ex. Listen, I was having some anger issues when I found this fic. It just happened to stick out nicely. It gets dark and is incredibly smutty.
Another reader insert fic I enjoy is this Tenth Doctor x Reader one that's just... it's just smut. It's completely unabashed smut. Reader and the Doctor have sex in a glass cage in a nightclub. That's it. One of the best horny AF PWP I've ever seen just because it's so... it's so smut.
One that isn't smut but has a smut effect on my heart because it's so fluffy is this Bones Mccoy x Reader fic that's like a bookstore owner x local doctor AU. It's so cute.
On a smutty Bones fic note if so desired, this one has plot. No, really, it's got 60k words and 12 chapters, and is like a really good read even if you skip the smut. It's adorable.
Edit to add: Hanahaki Disease McSpirk? Take it. Take the angst and hurt/comfort. Take it. You know you want it.
And this McKirk/Reader fic that has angst galore but also a three-way-marriage and babies. Let's go!!
And as a final addition I will bring in my most absolutely foolproof comfort smut -- it's a Smosh fic, set between Reader and Damien Haas, and it's genuinely one of the best slow burn smut fics I have ever read. This is one of the fics that makes me dig thru all my bookmarks to find again no matter how deep it gets.

Overall I am a sucker for fluff and won't generally read fics without happy endings. I also am a sucker for certain tropes, with Hanahaki Disease being one of my current faves... I also go and reread my own fics sometimes haha
i know a lot of people like reece, and trust me, i understand the appeal of a give no shits attitude, but steve's softer demeanour is so much more attractive to me
