"Judt what do you think you're doing?"
It's the tone one takes with a naughty child, caught admist their hand shoved inside the porcelein of the cookie jar, crumbs littering their little faces. Giovanni was the child in this instance, Matoris' narrowed eyes watching him, scrutinizing his every move. She had caught that flinch, of course. She had known the man long enough to know any subtle shifts in his behaviour ... especially when he's doing something devious.
"You should know by now I give a report before I leave work for the day. You are aware that I can see what's behind you on the counted, correct?"
Was that a hint of amusement behind her scolding tone?
