Yeah, I brought Karl along. It felt like I probably should have some backup, or at least company, on the drive up. Callie was busy and, although she was a great conversationalist, Karl was former military. I felt like, if something went wrong in Raywood, somebody with a military background might be a bit more useful than an anthropologist.

IF THEY’RE NOT LIVING TOGETHER AT THE START OF SEASON 4, I CALL FOUL ON EVERYTHING.  karl disappears/proves himself to be a little less than trustworthy [coughs] and nic made up a whole entire person to cope with the absence in his life.  i mean the space callie filled was so exactly the one that karl left behind and just--gah, someone needs to keep an eye on this boy to make sure he’s living firmly in reality.

Honestly the one thing I’m genuinely actually living for about the recent Tanis developments is the steady vibe I get from Nic of just-under-the-surface pissy passive-aggression, mostly in regards to Live Van Sant. It’s seriously like they broke up and now Nic is being awkward and an asshole about it.
