Spook Of The Day #122 • The ghost of George III is seen in the windows of Windsor Castle

George III wasn’t just known for being a mentally unstable king with several iconic solos in Hamilton - he is also known for his forays into the realm of the supernatural.

Aside from having conversations with the ghost of Elizabeth I, he is known today to also haunt Windsor Castle.

He’s one of the 25 ghosts to haunt this location, and is often seen looking mournfully out of windows at passers-by.

Historians later concluded that it was here that he would be stowed away during his fits of madness until he was once again fit to rule.
