Once upon a time The world was sweeter than we knew Everything was ours How happy we were then But somehow once upon a time Never comes again
One of my favorite albums is Frank Sinatra’s September of my Years (1965).
Its cover art, by George Bartell (1933-2013), is kind of representative of its era: part photorealism, part impressionistic sketch, and with some modest abstract compositional elements.
Bartell is mostly known now for his automotive art. An easygoing guy, casually talented, who approached art like it was actually fun to do: and one of those artists without a Wikipedia entry.
