This might have partially answered this question, but how did the Saurian Strike Team members Paulie, Ivan, and Thunderlips end up with such mostly human-like names?

Certain names seem to crop up again and again across different species across the multiverse. You say those names are human, but ask yourself what makes Thunderlips any more human than Thunderwing?
Likewise, Paulie and Ivan are good traditional Cybertronian names, as fine as Shrapnel, Maverick, or George Smithtron.
