George Zingali
This one is for the drum corps folks.
George Zingali is one of the key people who had made the connection between the marching drum and bugle corps activity and the theatrical arts. Drum corps today would not be what it is without George Zingali’s monumental influence (while still being a very down-to-earth person whose brilliance surpassed his lifetime). Even if you’ve never marched on a field in a marching band or a drum and bugle corps (or even been on a stage for that matter) - there are certain ideas and concepts that Zingali was able to introduce and touch upon that do indeed have layers of understanding that go beyond what’s simply happening in the design (and can speak on an individual level to each person).
His message at the end of this video is absolutely inspiring.
I’m sure he’s been up in Heaven, watching & loving every second of each drum corps show each year since he passed on (that’s my personal opinion - take it or leave it). God bless him.
