I took these songs from a newer playlist, the summer is warm, pt. 2, a bluegrass, blues, and traditional American folk playlist to prepare me for warmer temperatures and greener scenery.

People I'd Like to Get to Know Better

Last Book: -- --: a History by G. F. (a local history book), Religion In the Lands That Became America by Thomas A. Tweed, and maybe going to start The Hills Stand Watch by August Derleth.

Last Song: We Light the Way by Ramin Djawadi.

Last Film: The Man with the Golden Gun (1974). My dad's been on a Bond spree and I happened to be in the room.

Last Series: Little Women (2017).

Last Video Game: Pentiment, my favorite story-based game in the world. I cannot recommend this game enough! (shocker, the memory and grief woman loves the memory and grief game!)

Sweet or Salty: Salty!

Coffee or Tea: Always tea! My favorite right now is a local blend of black tea, raspberry leaves, and rose petals.

Working on: Meetings with grad school professors and final decisions?! Also pulling together all my research, world building, and character info into a new Scrivener set for tEoEH.

Tag Game: Author vs. Character

Thank you for the tag, @gaslightwestern! This was a surprisingly difficult but fun challenge for me!

Some of you might recognize these characters from my post earlier this week. These are Hlíd (narrator) and Ostrún (major character) from a very old WIP that's been Ship of Theseus'd into Die Eyjar. Inspired by the Poetic Edda, the Hevararkviða, and other Old Norse texts, Die Eyjar is set in a world where memory is intimately intertwined with power and identity.

When a newcomer's sacrifice is ignored and she is left without a name and a purpose, she is taken in by those who found her. Renamed Hlíd, her inquisitive nature leads her into places long abandoned and memories far forgotten. As a member of the divinely-chosen rulers and protectors of the islands, Ostrún takes Hlíd into her care when others refuse. But when Hlíd’s curiosity dredges up a past Ostrún and her people hoped would fade, their trust in each other starts fraying.
