GBR appreciation post <3
What's funny is my babies are still tiny, but one of them is already getting territorial. Like dude you're smaller than my fingernail, you're not even a real fish yet, chill.
Bonus shrimp:
Hi! A few days ago I went to get a male/female pair of blue rams, but now since they’ve been able to color up a bit I’m pretty positive they’re both actually female (they both have a pink belly). I’m just wondering if theres a peaceful way I could keep two male and two females together? Or would it just be better to return one female and get a male in its place? My tank is a 46gal and has lots of plants and wood/rocks for separate territories
hi anon! congratulations on your new fishkiddos!I’m not sure what would be best for your fish, though, because I’ve never kept rams and dont know much about if they’re in pairs or if a certain ratio is necessary when keeping a group :Obut maybe @pet-of-subs @elhazar @my-splendid-pets @gecko-garden can help or know someone who can?
NOT EVEN AN HOUR LATER. CALLED IT.
Who needs BBC Earth when you've got your own nature documentary going on in your bedroom? The first one is the mama laying the eggs, then the dad sweeps through and fertilizes them.
COOL SHIT.
I've never noticed before but BIG CHUNGUS HAS A MUSTACHE.
Goldie is my sweetest boy, and it looks like one of the girls is settling down with him. It actually looks like they're trying to lay eggs on one of my plants, which is disturbing because they're siblings, and neither of them are full grown (the female is still so small!) and also LORD HELP ME if they managed to produce young in my overcrowded tank.
But. Also. I'm glad my sweet boy is the one who landed a girlfriend. 😆
Dad Byron:
He's caused a lot of problems lately because his sons are now (nearly) full grown and he's getting territorial. I'm not sure what to do but I just ordered more plants so maybe more cover will help.
Case in point, Big Chungus's fucked up fins:
They aren't supposed to be ragged like that. 😕
Goldie:
Very shy, minds his own business.
As yet unnamed teen mom:
Yes, my children are all fucking each other. It's unsettling.
