The German Wirehaired Pointer, otherwise known as the Deutsch Drahthaar, is a loyal and energetic gundog known for it's rough and rugged coat. The coat is designed for outdoor activity because it insulates against weather and protects against thorns and brambles. Although closely related to the German Shorthair Pointer, this is not simply a wirehaired variant.
