Imagine being Russia’s best friend and hype woman, cheering him up while he goes on a depressive mood swing, believing nobody likes him. Imagine consoling Germany beacuse he thinks that even though he’s trying to change, everyone believes he’s a villain. Can you do head canons for one of these, please? Whichever you prefer.
💕I’m going to do both, because I love this so much!💕
Vanya= Ivan in Russian
Russia
You watched carefully as the large Russian poured a cup of coffee. He movements were slow and tired. He carefully lifted the cup to his lips, his dull eyes watching the snow outside. You stepped out of your hiding spot around the corner and skipped over to the large Russian.
“Hi Vanya.” You smiled, grabbing your own cup from the cupboard. He looked away from the window and his eyes lit up slightly.
“Hello little one.” He smiled, patting the top of your head. “How did you sleep? Was the guest room to cold?” He asked, grabbing your cup from you and pouring you your coffee.
“Thank you.” You took your cup back from him and dumped in some sugar and creamer. “No it’s was perfect! The blankets are really nice and soft!” You grabbed a muffin from the counter and plopped down on the stool.
“I’m glad to hear that. You can always take one of you want. It’s not like I get any guests beside you.” He smiled despite his words and grabbed a muffin of his owns. It was true and it hurt you every time you realized it. You tried to stay at his house as often as you could, usually a week a month and you noticed he always seemed to be sad on your last day.
“Ya well it’s stupid! You should have people coming in and out of here. I always have a great time when I come here.” You assured, with a wide smile. The Russian blinked at you lovingly (in a friend way).
“That’s very kind of you to say, Sunflower. But you and me both know why.” He raised an eyebrow at you knowingly. You sighed and rested your head against your palm.
“So? You are so much more than that. It’s not like they haven’t done bad things in the past. It’s just because your big and intimidating. And you shouldn’t even want to be friends with people who can’t get past the way you look.” You shifted in your seat and gripped his large hand. “You are one on the most caring people on this planet! Yes sometimes you get angry, but everyone does! You are also loyal and protective to a fault! Every time you come around I feel safe! You also makes laugh all the time, even though I’m sure you don’t really mean too, but you make me happy. And anyone is an idiot for not even trying to see that side of you.” You finished. A fat tear rolled down his cheek and you quickly wipped it away.
“What would I do without you, Sunflower?” Ivan smiled, pulling you into a tight hug.
Germany
“Are you okay Ludbug?” You whispered. Your hand crept down and gripped his as the both of you walked. You two were relaxing in a coffee shop, giggling as people knocked over their coffee or fought over their place in line, when his iron cross slipped out of his shirt and someone shouted and declared he was a Nazi. You both knew it was a sign of bravery- but it was turned into a Nazi symbol.
He squeezed your hand gently and entered the code to enter your apartment building. You both made you way up the stairs and you unlocked your door.
“It’s bullshit.” He declared as soon as he closed the door behind the both of you.
“I know, Luddy. They don’t know what they’re talking about.” You sighed, flopping down on the couch. He followed you and placed your legs over his lap.
“I mean I got this for being brave! I didn’t even get it in the Second World War!” He growled.
I have no idea if that’s turn of not- or if it isn’t just pretend for the sake of the story please!
“That’s why you should just ignore them, they don’t have no idea what it even means.” You soothed, sitting up with your legs still over his lap, you raked your fingers through his hair, scratching at his scalp. He pressed his head against your hand closing his eyes tightly.
“It’s just not fair.” He groaned. “I try to be a better person- yet I am constantly reminded of all my mistakes and my old self. While everyone else just gets to walk around without having to have a shadow loom over them constantly. Most of them have done things almost as bad as me and yet I’m the only one who has been punished.” He looked at you with desperate eyes. You nodded in agreement, and you cupped his head between your hands pressing his forehead against yours.
“It’s true. But you know what? You have grown more in 75 years than they have 300 years. You are one of the most progressive nations, because you have been punished for your actions and realized that you no longer wanted to be that way. Half of the reasons the other countries haven’t grown is because they just move along and aren’t forced to reflect, but you were.” He started to relax as your words set in and he wrapped his arms around you holding you tightly against him. “And you’re a better person for it. Seriously. So don’t let some stupid people at a coffee shop judge you. They don’t know you. The don’t know everything you’ve gone through and how far you’ve come.” You kissed the side of his head.
“Thank you, Y/N.” You felt him smile against your shoulder.
