my mom jst complained abt the refugees that were on tv and said “LOOK HOW D*MB THEY ARE!! THEY DONT EVEN ACCEPT WATER OR FOOD!! WELL GUESS THEYRE NOT THAT HUNGRY AFTER ALL” and “But you know it’s only rich people that flee, right? The poor people can’t afford to travel and the rich people are st*pid at that too because they use small dangerous boats and now two collided and less people dare to go after that.” i tried to talk some sense and humanity in her but of c it was suddenly my fault bc “WELL WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT?? HUH??? HOW YOULD YOU LIKE IT IF WE TOOK REFUGEES IN? WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO CHANGE YOUR SLEEPING PATTERN TO KEEP GUESTS IN MIND? ARE YOU SUPPORTING A CAUSE?? NOO BECAUSE YOU’RE POOR! YOU’RE NOT EVEN DOING ANYTHING” and she then continued to complain abt refugees being not that helpless etc etc. jeez i rly fucking hate my mom and i cant even pretend to myself that i care anymore. honestly chill ur xenophobic ass man its too early for this
