well, it occurred to me last night at 3am when things look more striking than they really are. german personal pronouns don’t have genitive forms. legit. dative and accusative only. you literally can’t say “i’ll do it instead of you”, you have to substitute “for you” that requires accusative. there’s just a gap in the declension paradigm no one seems to mind. until you need to use a preposition that requires genitive, with a personal pronoun. technically, these forms exist, but i’ve never seen them in 10 years of learning german, that is until this question started bothering me, and idk in what context they could be used
