How To Become A Platinum Selling Rapper or Singer In 13 Steps
I just to see which rappers and singers have gone platinum this year, and I got spammed with links telling me how to become a platinum selling musician in just 13 steps.
WOW!!!
...for real, though, does anyone even bother clicking those links? It's bullshit!
Without wanting to crush dreams, a very, very, very small percentage of people actually become mega successful musicians and end up being multi-millionaires.
DON'T MAKE MUSIC WITH THE INTENTION OF GOING PLATINUM!
Make music with the intention of just being heard. Make good music, share it, try and develop a loyal following.
It's not about having a million listens on YouTube, it's about having even just one person say "I'm a fan of your music."
I produce music for the love of doing it and for the buzz I get when I hear a finished track made over a beat I created. Nothing else is like that feeling for me.
If you are of a similar mind to me, please do follow me and also get in touch: [email protected]. I'm always looking for collaborations and also just to talk to music fans and fellow musicians.
Thanks for reading.

One Fan At A Time!!
One of our bands were asked to perform during a hockey game for regional favorites this past weekend. Close to 15,000 people attend these highly enthusiastic matches..and this isn't even the NHL..that's Canada for you..! The band is asked to perform at the top of the doors opening and in-between periods to the patrons of the game as they arrive and through out the game. They are positioned off to one side of the entrance way ...which happens to be directly acrosss where one would get a burger and beside where one might get a beer..not too bad right. But as much as this might seem like a great opportunity to expose our selfs to a staduim of peolple... the real purpose of them getting hired was to provide a little background treat for the hockey fans as they mull around the stadium or wait in line for snacks and to most thats what is was... a little distraction while I wait..thank you!
So this is all fine and dandy but what was fascinating to witness was how the band won over the crowd..! Not everyone mind you...but definitely all sorts..! It wasn't soon after the first song that our guys had people notice the sweet sounds coming from over by where you buy a burger..! Soon we had moms and dads, kids, teenagers and even a couple scary lookin bikers standing around the stage and completely engaged with the band. As the band joked about playing their first stadium show...it was just amazing to see them win over this passive audience...who kept coming up to our merch table after each set to purchase the groups CD... get a free sticker...and they even signed a few autographs to some excited teen age girls..! The band sold 15 albums that night...to complete strangers...who had no clue they existed before the game...! So while its true they didn't play to 15,000 people that night...they definitely made at least 15 fans that evening who will no doubt be telling their friends about this amazing group at the Hockey game. So with another 14,985 people...to go...it all about one fan at a time....ok well 15 anyway..!
