First-ever K-pop fandom you joined? 2pm~ Mostly Jay Park and Wooyoung.
If you could make a mixtape for your favorite K-pop group as a gift, what would be three songs you’d include? Beautiful Day by 5zic (for Dongwoo and Hoya), Let's Go on a Trip by Cho Yong Pil (a classic! For all the boys), and Kiss by TC and the Geunj (For Sungjong, Woohyun, and L). I'd also put in YB's 1178 (for Sunggyu) and ... ahh, I don't know what type of music Sungyeol likes. Something by Taeyeon, haha.
Favorite live K-pop performance? Ohhh man this is so hard to choose. T.O.P's "As if Nothing's Wrong" was so incredibly touching and harmonica was just like augh TABI. But I love Eunhae's "Oppa oppa" that I saw at last year's SMTOWN in LA! Super cute, heh.
Favorite K-pop comeback concept? I think my favorite one was either Infinite's "Paradise" or Big Bang's "Alive". The "Paradise" era was awesome. The guys looked very classy but masculine and sexy. Big Bang really showed who was the boss of kpop with their huge-scale comeback. I really wanted it to be 2pm, but honestly I'm sort of disappointed with their slightly anticlimactic comeback and concept. They needed a big wham as their return, but it didn't have much impact on me. In terms of girl groups, I really liked miss A's "I don't need a man" and Secret's "Shy boy". miss A's concept was unique and still showed off the feminine charms while promoting independence, which was awesome. It was a little more easier to handle than 2NE1's huge badassery concepts, though I love both. I respected Secret's decision to go bright and lively and vintage! I'm a huge fan of vintage, so for me that was great.
A K-pop idol whose fashion taste is most similar to yours? Hoya--it looks simple and neat and clean. I like how he doesn't go crazy on prints but occasionally branches out.
A K-pop idol (male or female) you’d be most awkward with on a first date? A K-pop idol you think you’d click with immediately? Most awkward would definitely go to Taemin. Have you seen the kid on WGM?! Hahah. Click immediately is Dongwoo, I think. We seem to have a similar personality, though I'm not as "high-tension" all the time ^^
The most expensive K-pop product you’ve ever bought? SMTOWN 2012 ticket? Does that count? Hahaha. Or my 35,000 won "Mona Lisa" CD, if that doesn't. I should spend more money on my oppas... I'm debating buying L's photobook if I don't get it in a giveaway.
What is something you least like about K-pop? I don't like how the girls' friendships, other than f(x) and SNSD, seem a little forced. Even before that entire T-ara episode, I got the feeling that girls are a little more nastier to each other than the boys are. Since male groups are forced to do fanservice-y touchy stuff, I feel like they'll get closer, but girls... not as much. I'm also sorry that none of the idols get adequate sleep and eating pattern/time.
Favorite K-pop lyric? Infinite H's "Special Girl" has awesome lyrics because it so perfectly described a situation I was in, but I think I was very charmed by B2ST's "On Rainy Days": I put my foot purposefully in the trap of the past/I don't try to struggle to get out. Here's the original: 추억이란 덫에 일부러 발을 들여놔/벗어나려고 발버둥조차 치지 않아.
If you were a member of an idol group, what would be your ‘image’ or ‘position’? (ie. the ‘dance machine,’ the ‘innocent maknae,’ the ‘tough but caring leader’, etc.) I would want to be the dance machine, but I would probably be called something like ChoomPatty instead. I dance all the time, but it's so random and funny looking, ahaha.
