Hello and welcome back, Beauties!! Remember how I told y’all that I was looking to try more Indie brands? Well,I took the leap and checked out Pinky Rose Cosmetics after seeing they were having a sale on their single shadows. If you’re interested in seeing swatches and my thoughts on the shadows, just keep on reading.
Here is a screenshot of my order that I placed with Pinky Rose Cosmetics during their sale a few weeks back. I’d been on the hunt for a dark Army green shadow, so the shade Greenfield (last shadow on list) is what initially landed in my cart. Their single shadows are $3.99 each regularly, so they’re still a super affordable Indie brand. In addition to single shadows, they also have liquid lipsticks, lipgloss, eyeshadow palettes, lashes, and beauty tools.
In the image above, I’ve swatched all of the shadows with no primer underneath. The image on the left is without flash, and the one on the right was taken with the flash on my iPhone. As I hope the swatches show, these shadows are pretty pigmented. I found that, when I used them on the eyes, they were true to color and didn’t have a ton of fallout.
Today, I’m wearing Sedona in the crease, Vera Cruz on the lid, and Greenfield in the outer corner and lightly under the lower lash line. This photo was taken with the flash on my iPhone, just for the record.
So, I know you guys are waiting for me to get to the point, so here it is. I think that the Pinky Rose single eyeshadows are definitely worth trying out. They’re definitely a GET IT item for me, and I plan on purchasing more soon. The shadows are pigmented and blendable, and last all day on the eyes without getting creasy or weird. I didn’t have fallout under my eyes or all over my face from the shimmers or the mattes. The brand is cruelty-free, which is always great. And for $3.99 per shadow, you can’t beat the price or quality of shadow you’re getting with these.
Do you guys plan on picking up any Pinky Rose Cosmetics shadows? Let me know in the comments below.
Until next time, Beauties!! xoxo
Get It or Forget It?: Pinky Rose Cosmetics Single Shadows Hello and welcome back, Beauties!! Remember how I told y'all that I was looking to try more Indie brands?
Hello and welcome back, Beauties!! I hope you’re having a great day so far. I’ve always been a fan of bareMinerals, but this is the first liquid foundation I’ve tried from them. If you’re interested in seeing how it worked for me, just keep on reading.
It’s amazing to me how quickly our makeup tastes can change. For the longest time, I would never wear liquid foundation. I found that it would irritate my skin, or just look weird on me. Thanks to better products and finally learning how to apply it well, I’ve become a huge fan of it.
When I was only wearing powder foundations, bareMinerals was the brand I typically gravitated towards because of their extensive shade range and I never had any issues with my skin from it, like breakouts or anything. So, when I began hearing so many good things about their newest liquid foundation, I figured I’d give it a go.

The bareMinerals barePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation, $34, comes in about 30 shades. When I was at Ulta trying to select a shade, I found three that could work for me, which is a rarity for me. I finally settled on the shade Cappuccino and it’s pretty much a perfect match for me. Let’s go over the claims real quick from the Ulta website:
bareMinerals barePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation redefines what long-wear means: a good-for-skin, high-performance formula that blurs pores and imperfections while improving the appearance of skin texture over time*. With 24-hour wear in a range of natural matte finish shades, it works – and plays – as hard as you do. Just one pump delivers lightweight, oil-free, photo-friendly full-coverage. barePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation is powered by specially-developed Mineral Lock Long-Wear Technology that blends mineral pigments with lipids naturally found in skin to lock in all-day full coverage. Natural Bamboo Stem Extract provides a smooth, soft focus finish, while Papaya Enzymes gently improve skin’s texture both immediately and over time. This self-setting foundation is transfer-resistant and color-true. Available from the fairest porcelain to the deepest cocoa for all of our natural beauties.
Benefits:
Dermatologist tested
Oil-free
Non-acnegenic
Non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores)
Makeup so pure you can sleep in it
This foundation has been clinically shown to improve skin over time, by addressing hydration, texture, appearance of pores and boosting skin renewal.
I have found that the barePro foundation definitely lasts for a long time without getting all funky on the skin as the claims state. I’ve worn it for 12 hours and even longer and it literally didn’t need any touching up. I also agree with the claim that it’s lightweight on the skin. You barely realize you have it on the skin, which is a big thing for me. I hate feeling like I have a heavy mask on my face.
Here are some pics from one of the days I spent testing the foundation. The image on the left is after about four hours of wear. I apply my makeup at 6am every morning, so this picture was taken around 10am. The image on the right was taken at 7pm once I got home from work. As you can see, nothing is broken down or crusty except for my hair lol.
So, what are my thoughts on the bareMinerals barePro Foundation?
Y’all, I LOVE this foundation! You can use a little bit to get a lighter coverage, or build it up to a super full coverage, depending on your skin texture. I’ve applied it with a beauty sponge, brush, and with my fingers and have gotten equally good looks every time. This is definitely my favorite foundation so far this year, and definitely will be picking up a backup. Guys, GET IT. Period.

Get Ir or Forget It?: bareMinerals barePro Foundation Hello and welcome back, Beauties!! I hope you're having a great day so far. I've always been a fan of bareMinerals, but this is the first liquid foundation I've tried from them.
Hey there, Beauties! Welcome back to our little corner of the web! I tested this Becca foundation for a week, and am ready to share my thoughts on it with you. So, if you wanna know about my experience with the Becca Ultimate Coverage Creme, just keep reading.

The Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme, $44, comes in 18 shades. The shades available are in a great gradient of color, as shown in the image below, making it pretty easy to find your shade. Or, at bare minimum, a shade very close to your shade. I picked up the shade Mahogany, which is one of the deepest shades in the range. It’s definitely too dark for me. I should’ve picked up Sienna, but I still made the shade I purchased work. This is what happens when you don’t swatch before purchase, folks.

Anywho, let’s take a look at the claims from the Ulta website:
Becca’s Ultimate Coverage Foundation is a full-coverage, 24-hour wear, water-resistant foundation – enriched with intense pigments and water to achieve natural, weightless coverage. Coverage without the cake! One pump effortlessly covers imperfections, redness, hyperpigmentation, and uneven texture – giving you ultimate confidence! Each water-resistant shade is formulated with a balance of intense pigments for full coverage and 22% water for a natural finish that lasts all day. This best-selling liquid foundation is great for all skin tones and types. For seamless application, apply one pump to a well-hydrated face after moisturizer or primer is fully absorbed, and use The One Perfecting Brush or a sponge to blend.
I definitely agree with the claim that this foundation is full coverage. You don’t need much product at all to cover up your past, present and future with this stuff. The first day I used it, I definitely used too much and looked a little cakey. Also, they say to use a brush or sponge to apply it, but I found that using my fingers worked best for me. Not to say that it looked bad with a sponge or anything, but it looked super perfect when I applied it with my fingers. Also, when I applied it that way, I needed even less product.
As I told you guys, the shade I picked up is too dark for me, so I had to mix it to lighten it up a little, which definitely isn’t something I’m used to doing. Typically, foundations are too light for me. Anyway, I mixed it with both hydrating foundations and more matte foundations I have and found that it didn’t impact the coverage or formula of the foundation in a negative way at all. The only thing I noticed was, as I said before, if I used too much, I looked a little cakey.
Here are all of the looks I posted last week of me using the foundation. As you can see, you can tell that I used a little too much on Thursday because I’m looking a little dry and textured in the face. I always set my face, but with this foundation you have to tread lightly doing so or you’re gonna look a little textured if you have dry skin like I do.
So, the big question is, would I recommend this foundation, right? Well, I think that if you’re a fan of a more full coverage look, you should definitely GET IT. I’m typically a medium coverage girl, but I enjoyed the look this foundation gave once I found the application method that worked best for me. It is full coverage without feeling heavy on the skin and lasts FOREVER on the skin. If I had to name a con, it would be that it takes a while to set on the skin and transfers. Otherwise, I think that this is a solid foundation.
Let me know in the comments below if you’ve tried this foundation and what your thoughts on it are.
