Based on things I’ve been subjected to regarding this issue it seems I actually DO need to say it:

We as citizens continually allow the separation of the images from the horrific history associated with them.

We then don’t protest the commercialization or exploitation of those images for agenda stumping or monetary gain.

As though being cavalier about a time or event in history is alright if you “weren’t trying to be racist or bigoted. “

There’s no reason to reach for a slave ship comparison or image from an other horrific event in time to convey your message UNLESS the comparison you’re attempting to make actually has to do with the event to which you refer.

So, are we saying that riding on a plane is like being a slave chained in the bowels of a ship against your will? Did they mean passengers were in fear of beatings, rape, torture or being thrown from the plane and left at the mercy of wind currents and gravity?

If so, then it’s a perfectly drawn analogy. If not, it’s inappropriate, insensitive and ignorant.

This paper should’ve thought twice then thought again.

It’s not “just a picture,” it’s a well recognized image symbolizing the theft and murder of people.

Find another comparison picture to bitch about lack of leg room and inadequate seat size you thoughtless ass sacks.

And again screw your “oh shit someone noticed our callous disregard” half-assed “uh…we didn’t draw it” bullshit apology.
