Unfamiliar Idiom

There aren't enough hours in the day to clear out all the enemies that appear in Dedan's Zone. That's why he still awake, patrolling for any trouble that may be lurking. These days there's no lack of variety of dangers. Specters, burnts, Batters, Zacharies, Puppeteers, and crap that comes slinking around that he can't even identify. All he knows is it ain't supposed to be there.

He'd been walking for hours. Even metal men need a smoke break every now and then. He takes a seat on a pile of steel boulders outside the plastic administration in Shachihata, lighting the tip of a cigar with the heated end of his finger. Something doesn't feel right. There's a tightness in the atmosphere, as if the Zone itself was bracing for an impact of sorts. He stares up at the refinery windows in anticipation.
