Hetty Green
Do not call me “Witch of Wall Street,” call me a financier. Do not call me shrewd, I get what I want, when I want it. And definitely do not call me cheap, my son has one leg and does not resent me. Hetty Robinson was the old me. I started out my life being born to one of the wealthiest families in America, then was sent to my grandfather’s house after the death of my brother. I grew an understanding of financial markets and and was involved in family fights on money. My late mother’s $8000 estate was left to me, but my father took the rest of her trust fund. This began my first financial war.
My brand became using my sharp tongue to invest in railroad and gold bands. I cared about my money. Once I married Mr. Green, I made sure all of my money belonged to me. I didn’t show this on the outside though. I would usually dress shabby and not spend my money on frivolous expenses such as cabs. And after all the financial scares after separating from my husband, I came out on top and invested in real estate and had everyone coming to me for money in the end.
