Well, i can try and give some advice. This should work in general i think.
You need a good foundation, that being friendship!
Legit the best option you have is to find someone with similar interests as you, it'll take time till your able to feel 'feelings' for that person and when your sure you may be close enough you shoot your shot, if it's a turn down situation make sure to listen to what they means by that.
In my case i am different then most, with me being Bisexual it makes me have alotta likes but my PANSEXUAL side makes me fall in love, FAST and HARD.
And i basically let her know how i felt pretty early in the few months we knew eachother how i felt, thankfully she didn't exactly mind but didn't wanna rush or anything, so basically i was in but not 'in in' ya get me?
Anyways as time passed and by valentines we became official although mind you that took many MANY daily talks between us to happen.
In a partner you wanna get something should 'click' between you, not JUST the interest but also everything else about them for you, and YOU for them, its gotta be mutual and it's such a wonderful feeling that you'll most likley understand if it really IS love or not.
I trusted my girlfriend so much with my real parts of myself and she trusted me. with her own real self too.
Best advice i can give with that is be your REAL self with them instead of what you THINK they want. Because that would be a relationship built on perceptions made but not the truth, and that's the worst mistake to make trying to get a partner, being someone other then yourself.
If your a people pleasure by nature due to your childhood like me then i HEAVILY encourage you to think about what YOU want. Be selfish about it, be GREEDY. And be proud of yourself.
