Okay we know about your love for rival shipping but what are your thoughts on jewelshipping? (Johan x Manjoume)
In a sense if I think about it they would work in a fairly similar way to Manjoume and Judai- minus the bits that come with... shared history?
Johan has been there for a shorter amount of time and frankly? We were robbed of a possible great friendship, since they barely ever interacted in canon.
I kind of imagine they would get talking with Johan inquiring about the Ojamas- and Manjoume would hate it, but then he'd be saying something that sounds very much like "your monsters are way cooler" and "the bond I share with them doesn't run as deep as yours". That would, I feel, make Johan very happy. And so he'd start talking about how good a person Manjoume actually is around the school, because "no man who can perceive his bond with the Crystal Beasts can be a bad person".
Johan definitely would try to argue that Manjoume clearly loves the Ojamas a lot, but edgy boy will never be truly ready for that conversation.
In general, Johan would probably like... drag Manjoume out of the house to go an do something fun and Manjoume just... doesn't really fight it, because sure, let's see what dumb shit my ray of sunhine of a boyfriend has planned for today.
They would also probably borderline adopt Judai. Johan would be the parent who smiles and waves and gives you a snack in case you're hungry, Manjoume would be the one who screams angrily at you to not take candy from strangers.
I think it has a lot of potential. They could go around looking for troubled Duel Spirits to try and fix their problems. I think that would be a cool concept.
Extra dumbass energy, but they are also really competent.
Finally, the ship name.
... It's so pretty. I feel like any Johan ship could be called Jewelshipping, you know? But a part of my brain thinks: "Ah, yes, it's because Johan is Crystal boy and Manjoume's eyes are like Obsidian". Not to quote A Song of Ice and Fire of all things, but uh. Dragonglass. Fitting with Manjoume's grey irises.
For the sake of preserving the spirit of the 'jewelshipping' title, I hereby claim that Johan collects rocks and Manjoume buys some cool and rare ones for him when he stumbles upon them (he seeks out specialised shops, don't be fooled).
