Getting Old [Closed; Xavier, Ryn]
Opelucid City, time’s dividing line. It was an old city, built mostly out of stone and sprinkled with trees throughout. Not quite Clovis’ style, but it was a city, and had some things to do. Loads more than Lacunosa, that was for sure.
Sky High had flown him over to Opelucid late in the morning, just before lunch. Clovis was grateful to say the least, putting the Unfezant away in favor of Chamomile. She mewled at him and wrapped her ribbons around him as she always did, and he smiled. Today, he was going to be happy. Today, he was going to keep himself busy and, for the first time in what felt like forever, he was going to do something to make himself smile. Rotation battles, perhaps? Simply strolling through stores and markets for trinkets? He didn’t know. Just something.
He put his shades over his eyes (see? They did have practical use) and looked around for the hotel. It was awfully sunny out today, not that he minded. He wasn’t going to mind at all, really, just be happy! Even if it was forced…even if he had to fake it….
He headed into the hotel as soon as he found it, swiftly got the keys to a room, and headed up to drop off his things. He didn’t even bother pushing his shades back up to the top of his head, knowing that he’d be back out in a matter of minutes. After a quick trip to the bathroom, he went back to the elevator, stowing away Chamomile in the process. Hmmm…where to go?
Distracted by his thoughts, he barely noticed one of the elevator doors rapidly closing. Feeling hasty and not wanting to have to wait for another elevator, he ran to catch it, barely squeezing through the doors at the last moment. Once inside, he roughly leaned against the corner, eyeing the floor numbers above the door.
