day 1 of transitioning into raw eating
While taking Yuki to her vet appointment I shoved a banana into my mouth thinking about all the hype I read of (http://thebananagirl.com/tag/freelee) Freelee the Banana girl. Cmon, this can't be true, can it? And surely one must get tired of eating bananas or turn into a monkey I don't know which one comes first.
From what I understand so far about raw eating + dining like the banana girl is you eat a lot of fruit.
Now transitioning into raw eating it says to keep your eating (i hate the word diet, I'm going to try and refrain from using that word as much as possible as it associates with restrictions) mostly on a fruit basis. To try and keep yourself from bailing on eating raw take it slow and try eating only fruits up until noon. Try to keep the same fruits, simple meals, such as only bananas, or only oranges as a meal. Save veggies for later in the day. Here's some great sites to help you transition: http://gettingraw.blogspot.com/2010/11/10-tips-for-transitioning-to-low-fat.html
http://www.rawreform.com/content/view/47/93/ http://www.thebestofrawfood.com/vegan-shopping-list.html Banana girl Freelee eats 95% fruit, drinks 3 liters of water (12 cups) and eats fruits for breakfast and lunch finishing off with a small green salad for dinner. Now when I say she's eating fruit, I mean like 3 whole fucking pineapples for lunch and that's just the pineapple. So back to today. Two bananas an apple and a chia goji banana smoothie later I was downing gluten free Mac N Cheese and an argula salad, to later be followed by gluten free cereal and a 2 day old leftover cake from Raley's. So this was day 1. In a nutshell.
I felt like I was craving tastes all day. Salty, sweet, you name it I wanted something to pop with flavor. (insert that's what she said joke here) I've eaten raw before but I always made really complicated recipes which were tasteful but time consuming. Who knew NOT cooking your food would take so much time.
Now, it's a little past 8pm and at least I haven't eaten past that time. The transition also talks about not eating past a certain time to give your belly time to digest. Here's to day 2!
