Okay, so I haven’t written anything in what feels like over a year. I’m so sorry if this is bad.
Guild Artisan: If adventuring were no longer an option, what profession would your character take up? Why?
The Jedi were in hiding and hiding was not something Geviana Tolan, Jedi Knight, did well. But it had to be done. When the Jedi hid, she hid as well, steeling herself within her ship, the Credence, and hiding amongst her piles of scrap and miscellaneous droid parts.
Geviana Tolan was a Jedi Knight by choice. She could have given up the title and the way years ago, but she stayed devoted to her cause. But Gevi was born a mechanic. Durasteel was her clay; she molded it, made it original. Circuits and motherboards were the paint she used to being that clay to life. She couldn’t give up those skills as much as she could give up her connection to the Force. It was a part of her.
Slowly, the Knight became nothing more than an architect building blueprints in her head. She became a scientist with chipped fingernails, scalpels replaced with spanners. Puddles of oil made her cargo bay look like a mockery of local butcher on some agri-world. Soon the piles of scrap got smaller, but the cargo bay filled with life; artificial, but close enough to count as companionship.
Gevi became the thing she dreamed about on days her faith had faltered; a mechanic traveling around the Outer Rim, earning credits for her work. Her clients didn’t know the Force assisted her as she focused, her tools floating near her as she concentrated on her tasks.
In the back of her cargo bay, she had a weapon made of Skytrooper armor and Republic programming. Amongst the droids that swept and cleaned and ran diagnostics was a prototype droid that would fight for her when she could not.
Her lightsabers still hung at her hips, ready to be used. But until then, she went back to her tinkering.
