The air fryer makes it easy to make Gevulde Appel, a traditional Dutch dessert that tastes great. The warm, soft apples filled with a sweet and nutty mixture are a tasty treat for any event.
Ingredients: 4 large apples. 1/2 cup brown sugar. 1/4 cup chopped nuts e.g., walnuts or pecans. 1/4 cup raisins. 1 teaspoon cinnamon. 2 tablespoons melted butter. Vanilla ice cream optional, for serving.
Instructions: Clean the apples and cut out the core, leaving a 1/2-inch thick bottom. Put brown sugar, chopped nuts, raisins, and cinnamon in a bowl. Put a little of the sugar-nut mixture inside each apple and gently press it down. Put melted butter on top of the stuffed apples. The stuffed apples should be put in the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to 175F 350C and cook the apples for 15 to 20 minutes, until they are soft. If you want, you can serve the warm stuffed apples with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
