I am a little freaked out because I just KNOW there are SO many middle of the road people who would rather vote for Trump than a brown woman (or throw their vote away on a third party, which is the same thing). I'm far from Biden's greatest fan but he was SAFE. he was PALATABLE. and THIS year of all years I was happy for THAT. Is there a bright side to this situation somewhere?

I talked a bit about this in the replies on the post. Basically, I'm deliberately choosing to be optimistic about it and to hit the pavement for voting as hard as I fucking can.

For what it's worth, there are also of reasons to believe (and this definitely top of the list now) that Biden's decline is worse than we've generally seen. Biden's safe-ness has been feeling increasingly precarious for a couple of months now, and I know I've been getting pretty worried about it.

Also for what it's worth, I firmly believe that if we win, it will be because abortion rights are on the ticket. That's something that Biden hasn't campaigned on very hard, and also arguably a more powerful issue to campaign on, with a woman at the top of the ticket.

The biggest reason I'm hopeful, though, and the main reason I posted it, is that Kamala Harris winning is quite possibly the best chance we have of the Palestinian genocide ending soon.

Do you think that all psychic 'mon have a higher decree of sapience than other types? Even the less humanoid ones?

i think the gardevoir line proves that the concept of sapience and psychic power are connected, but don’t necessarily go hand in hand. plenty of object pokemon are considered a part of the psychic type and, presumably, are not super high in sapience. at the very least, i think psy types have the potential to really develop mentally and emotionally on a high level, but the species encompassing them are varied enough it can’t really be proved to be the expected outcome

Are you familiar with Gladiator? It's a fan-run format on Arena that's 100-card singleton with no commander. Every card on Arena is legal in it (save for a short banlist) and that includes Alchemy cards. It's given me a newfound appreciation for them!

that's interesting! unfortunately I'm not that into Arena because I don't want to deal with having two separate card collections. I tried Arena for like... three hours during ONE standard and decided that poison being in standard was not enough to make me play arena lol

Thank you! I have many thoughts about the color pie to share, and too little time to write them all out, but hopefully I'll be able to do more of these as time goes on.

Black in particular is near and dear to my heart and I've been planning for a while to explore it in relation to Toby Fox's Undertale and Deltarune, in which I think its themes play a major role!

while psychics cannot affect ghosts with their powers, they still have a certain sensitivity to them. despite a long history of ghosts being used against them, many psychics whether pokemon or human tend to have benign spirits drawn to them; this is where many modern rituals and diplomatic skills with speaking to ghosts come into play, and part of the reason ghosts are a ‘type’ to begin with. diplomacy between the living and the dead is vital in a world where the energy of the soul can coalesce into entire species, of course.

because of this, many human psychics from the major bloodlines (fortier, miyashita, and others) tend to gravitate towards ghosts, whether they like it or not. those who do not take to developing their abilities tend to get into spirit based careers, if not all-out ghost training. the best kind of exorcist is considered to be a psychic with a lot of empathy.

even outside of potential career application, some psychics tend to accumulate ghosts in their daily life, and humoring them is usually their safest, easiest option. for the most part, ghosts are just happy to find people who perceive and acknowledge them, and human psychics themselves are historically othered by mundane society and come to appreciate the company.
