Apparently I missed Ghiblijam.
I can't do an art today because I need to finish my magpies and work on some book stuff, but here's some old work I had to lift off my dA (although I think I posted it on tumblr way back.)
Snufkin and Nausicaa would definitely be besties.
I count the Nausicaa manga amongst my biggest inspirations. It gives me the shivers when I read it.

Saw Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind for the first time this week and did a little watercolor doodle. I can't believe I didn't see this movie sooner!!

A very late submission for GhibliJam
Totoro is my favourite Ghibli film, I really respond to the more child oriented Miyazaki animations despite being a ‘real’ adult. One day I hope to have children and see their eyes widen at the sight of a hidden tree nest and a magical umbrella toting cutie like Totoro.
If you have never seen his work, definitely start with Ponyo and then Totoro and then there are so many more great films to choose from.
