Longboards Ice Cream
Much like how a surfboard is crafted with care and passion, the same goes for homemade Longboards Ice Cream. Each bar contains rich ingredients that are full of flavor and are available in stores (Gelson's) to bring the taste of Longboards home. Fortunately for us, we experienced the grandeur of Longboards in person.
The day before the OC Foodie Fest, we were able to catch up and hang loose with Finau, driver and magic maker of Longboards Ice Cream truck. You may get the bar as is or customized to call your own. Take your pick from a coat of Ghirardelli milk or dark chocolate and various toppings to get more with just your average ice cream bar. We decided to get our free samples from their Signature Boards.
Bar Fight: Chocolate bar dipped in milk chocolate and coated with pretzels and peanuts. Loved the sweet and salty complex!
The Big O (the most popular combination): Cookies n' Cream bar dipped in milk chocolate and rolled in oreos. Yum-o! Our favorite ice cream is cookies n' cream so this was perfect for us.
Although we didn't get a bite of this, Chris from OC Mag got the Coco2. A coconut bar dipped in dark chocolate and covered in coconut shavings. If you love coconut, this is for you.
This was the coolest remedy on a hot and windy day. You can usually see Longboards along the shoreline, but keep tabs on Twitter and you can find them roaming around keeping things cool.
