Heavy Gear first edition rulebook, 1995.
My favourite mecha rpg/wargame of the late 90′s/early aughts. The first edition rulebook had rpg & wargame rules and not a lot of setting material, but it had plenty of gorgeous manga/bande dessinée fusion style art (mostly by Ghislain Barbe - @qosmiq) and great (heavily votoms-inspired) mecha designs.
Heavy Gear is the game that got me back into tabletop hobby gaming in ‘95, after I saw an ad for it in DP9′s Mecha Press magazine. And while I haven’t played in years, Heavy Gear still has a special place in my gaming memories.
