Anakin Looks Down at the Camp
STAR WARS EPISODE II: Attack of the Clones 01:17:55
Things I discovered today about the Tusken Raiders(Ghorfas):
They are descendents of the Kumumgah, a species that inhabited Tatooine previously.
The Kumumgah were a group of people who were conquered, enslaved, and annexed to the infinite empire (or rakatan empire ig)1 and looked like this:
1( who became interested in Kumumgah because they colonized nearby star systems)
(photo from here)
Fun Fact! Tatooine was actually a planet that previously was 'a lush world that had large oceans and a world-spanning jungle inhabited' x buuuut the Rakata, who blamed the kamumgah for a plague ''that was stripping them of their ability to use the Force" x and in return, after the continued fighting against the infinite empire and getting them off the planet, were bombarded with freaking glass (that is, the soil fused with silica forming the glass thanks to the freaking bombardment of said substance, which the Rakata were famous of doing), which ended up becoming the sand that covered the entire planet and ended up boiling the oceans away because of the heat.
It was so bad, you know the Dune Sea? Yeah, it was once an actual "bed of an inland sea" x but now humans could barely last 30 minutes without water from overexposure.
Anyway, I think I should also mention that there was the possibility that the climate change started before the Rakata arrived thanks to the excessive production by the Kamumgah's, but again, the Rakata were the ones who made Tatooine (from Jawaese: Tah doo Een e) into a freaking desert planet.
Anyhow, after the bombardment of Tatooine, Kamumgah's ended up involving into the Jawas and Ghorfa(s) , or Tusken Raiders as you may know them, although the term is mostly used by specialist studying the Tusken/Ghorfas past "to denote an earlier sedentary phase of their culture", but tend in count that the term Tusken Raider(s) actually refers to the group of Ghorfas' that raided the Fort Tusken (between 98 BBY and 95 BBy) (the first settlement on the Northern Hemisphere of the planet (technically the second one relatively to who made it), the habitable zone, where it had an "extensive moisture vaporator array pulled enough water vapor from the atmosphere to allow the growing of healthy and bountiful crops" for two years until Ghorfas attacked, adding the harsh conditions and the Fort was basically abandoned), but yeah, before that they were called the Ghorfas (and S*nd P**pl*, but that was only because early human settlers (like, around 5000 BBY early) disrupted the water supply of a cave (which the Ghorfas used to live in, because the Kamumgah took refuge in caves around the planet to survive, as they anticipated the glass⇾sand thing), making it so that they were forced to steal and alter the colonist technology, which ended up evolving to the gear we often see them with, but yeah, the Ghorfas term is older).
Oh! I almost forgot, the whole story I told you? It was shared by the Ghorfas shared via oral stories, from generation to generation I believe, although it was only the basic information, but the facts most likely remained basically the same, with maybe a few alterations, as Stories were considered important, making it so that Storytellers were considered the most important members of the tribe.

I probably should redo my Ghorfas post, it's all over the place...
Hand slipped and I made a Tusken character...
