Rooming with a ghost that's seemingly obsessed within him isn't as bad as Taehyung originally thinks, though he does hope to one day dissuade the kid from watching him in the shower.
Summary: You start at a new school. Nothing scary about that, right?
Genre: Horror/Supernatural
You nervously shook your leg as you sat in the car, butterflies fluttering in your stomach. You absently chewed on your lip as your mother turned up the news station that was going on about some sort of political debate that would be going on this afternoon. You kept your eyes out the window, watching the rain fall down in sheets outside. You didn’t notice when the car came to a stop until your name had been called out. You cast a side glance to you mother who looked at you expectantly.
“I’m sorry, what did you say?” Your mother sighed and handed you the umbrella that was once rolling around your feet in the passenger's side. She smiled at you. “Don’t be nervous. This is a new start for you. You’ll be fine.” She smiled and placed her hand over yours, giving it a light squeeze. “Now go. You’re going to be late.” You smiled and nodded, carefully opening the car door and opening the umbrella, doing your best not to get yourself or your bag wet. You stood in front of the school and took a deep breath to try to calm your nerves as a crack of thunder echoed behind you.
The school was eerily quiet when you entered. No one was in the halls or in any of the classrooms you peered in. It wasn’t until you passed a set of double doors that you saw what seemed to be the entirety of the student body and staff gathered in what appeared to be the auditorium. You felt relieved, figuring it was some sort of special announcement of some sort. Being as awkward as it was as a new student, you didn’t want to draw more attention to yourself by barging in, so you figured you’d wait it out in your homeroom class, and go forth with the day from there.
You looked around for class 205 and popped your head in. To your surprise, a student was already in there, resting their head on the desk. You tried to close the door to not bother them, but the noise made them look up in surprise. He was handsome. Very handsome. He had full lips and charming puffy eyes, and you could already feel your face heating up. They looked you up and down with raised eyebrows as you nodded your head in greeting.
“Are you lost? I’ve never seen you in this class.” His voice was light and airy and you shake your head. “Oh, no, I’m a transfer. I didn’t want to interrupt whatever was going on in the auditorium so I just came to my homeroom.” He raised a brow.
“There’s a ceremony?” You shrugged. “I guess. I didn’t really get a good look to see what was going on.” He stretched his arms out in front of him and let out a yawn. “That would explain a lot. What’s your name?”
“Oh, I’m __.”
“”Nice to meet you, I’m-” as he spoke his name a loud honk came from outside, drowning out his voice. You furrowed your brow. “I’m sorry, what was that?” Oh, my name is-” this time, a door slammed, making it impossible to catch his name. You sighed and simply smiled. You figured you could catch his name properly another time and you simply nodded. He smiled and gestured to the seat next to him. You sat and spoke for a good while. He was in the school choir and told you the story of how he got detention for three days due to him carving his name into the desk he was sitting at and how it was worth it, and you couldn’t help but be charmed by him.
It wasn’t too long before the door opened and students began to file in, but something was off. The were quiet and somber, with a few of the girls even crying as they entered the class. You looked to him, and his expression changed. It went blank, before looking down, fidgeting with his fingers. As the students settled down into their desks, the room was heavy with grief. Even the teacher has a somber expression as they spoke. “Now students, I know this has all been very difficult for you..” You looked over to the boy and he passed you a note. You slowly open the folded piece of paper, and read the hastily written words.
Thanks for talking with me! We should do it again sometime! :) - Jimin
You furrowed your brow in confusion as you looked back to him only to find he was gone, along with his belongings. The only thing on his desk being a black piece of cloth, and what appeared to be his black and white school photo in a frame. You audibly gasped, shocked. You looked down to your hands to find the note had disappeared as well. This couldn’t be! He was just here! You spoke to him for over an hour! This wasn’t right. You looked back to the front of the class where the teacher was still speaking.
“-and we will all miss Jimin dearly, but we have to remember that we must keep up with the curriculum as state tests will not stop because of the death of a student, no matter how tragic they may be.” The teacher made eye contact with you. “Ah, which reminds me, we have a new student!” You immediately stood from your seat, ready to ask to excuse yourself, your legs shaking. A crack of thunder drew your attention to the window, where you spotted the boy you spent your morning with. The dead boy you spent your morning with. He simply waved.
“Is everything alright?” You turned to face your teacher, pointing at the window. “He! He’s outs-” you looked out the window again to find that he was gone.” Everyone was looking at you like you were insane. You excuse yourself to the bathroom to gather your thoughts, deeming it as a daydream and profusely apologize once you returned and properly introduced yourself.
You never did see him again. But he definitely saw you.
