entemophobia.
ghost hates bugs. he hates them. he avoids them as much as possible. he’s able to shut that part of his brain off in the field, but when he’s off duty? he has a hard time handling it. and people wonder why he’s so pale, why he wears his mask. bugs can’t fly into his mouth when he’s wearing a mask. bugs can’t get him when he’s inside.
he hates worms and maggots the most. reminds him of the dirt. being in that fucking pine box. he swears he still has bugs in his ears from those few days.
it’s not something he tells people, why would they need to know? his phobias and triggers are things he keeps close to his chest. but sometimes people notice things.
like when he itches or tugs at his ears (bugs, there’s bugs in there) or when he kicks the grass if he has to kneel or lie down in the dirt. small habits like this. nobody has connected the dots— how could they? the actions are so noncommittal, but they definitely notice. but to them it’s just another one of the ghosts odd quirks.
