Remy LeBeau – first and foremost – is a massive pain in Pietro’s ass. Pietro has had many teachers over theyears, the majority of which he would prefer to either forget or not listen toat all in the first place, but Remy takes the fucking cake. Sitting in Xavier’s,scrunched up into a small seat behind a desk that Remy deems hilarious,listening to him drone on and on about mutant history, a topic of which heknows a fair deal about, all things considered, is as close to hell on earth asPietro has yet encountered, and he literally died.

Outside of class, the guy isn’t that bad, really. He’s a cocky piece ofshit, but Pietro can relate to that. He’s a good looking dude, why shouldn’t heflaunt that? Although outwardly he presents that he doesn’t give a shit aboutanyone but Remy and Remy alone, Pietro has noticed, in the brief moments heallows himself to see this, that there’s a softer side to him too. Remy’srelationship with his teammates on the X-Men was rocky, probably because hedidn’t let them know much of his past, something Pietro also understood.

If Pietro was the kind of guy to try and empathise with others,something that Remy was surprisingly good at, he would be the kind of guy torecognise that underneath everything, they weren’t all that different. Theyboth had their walls up, hid behind excessive self confidence and a cockysmirk, but there was a conflict going on behind those walls. Neither of themwere good at being good all of the time – they weren’t heroes like the others.But Pietro would be damned if he wouldn’t go to Remy when he was picking afight. That guy, against all odds, would be someone who would stand by hisside. Pietro’s sister would say that was all that mattered at the end of theday.
