Been in a writing slump for a couple months now, so fingers crossed this will help me out of it a little. Accordingly, a bit of a different line up here than usual, as I'm hoping some new ideas/projects will get the creative juices flowing.

Barb x Chrissy is probably my personal favourite rare pair in ST like they both are dead and yeah they have never had a conversation before but I do not care they are super cute and they both deserve to find love in the afterlife and why not with each other.

Slight TW here for some internalized homophobia and religious trauma:

This is a sin, her mother's voice whispered in the back of her head. It's a sin! Jason's voice repeated, adamantly. But Chrissy had already died and gone to hell. She was already a monster.  So she slid a hand around to cup Barb’s jaw and kissed her even more fiercely.

To fully live up to the title, because I can't resist, have the four of them actually talking about The Breakfast Club lol:

“Besides, Benson, I don’t get what you like about it so much. The nerd totally gets the shaft at the end–he’s all alone and he has to write that stupid essay.”  “Anthony Michael Hall?" Fred scoffed. "He’s completely annoying. Not only is he awkward, but he never stops talking, and every time he opens his mouth he shoves his foot right in it.”  Patrick shrugged, nonchalant. “Some people are into that.” Even in the blackness that perpetually surrounded them, there was no mistaking the way Fred’s ghostly pale cheeks went dark. Barb raised an eyebrow, a knowing smirk forming on her lips, and Chrissy gave her a pointed nudge with her knee.

🧟 for WIP Weekend? I love this title lol

Thank you so much for the ask, friend!! 🖤💛I have to give credit for the title to Rose Butler's chapter in the book Uncovering Stranger Things, which is an academic essay collection on the show (and tells you a lot about what I do for fun in my free time, I feel, lol). It was just too perfect as a moniker for the idea and dynamic I wanted to capture with this fic.

Also, the Word doc for this was totally empty this morning, and now I've got 1839 words of writing and outlining! So I can't overstate how much I appreciate these asks for giving me some much needed motivation.

Have some unsettling opening vibes:

Chrissy Cunningham woke up screaming. Her body was burning from the inside out, every one of her veins seeming filled with molten lava where her blood had once been. The agonizing heat roiled through her, making her tremble, limbs contorting with the force of it.  And in the second where the pain subsided long enough for her mouth to form words, she gasped out, “Eddie?!” Because that was the last thing she could remember…being in Eddie’s Uncle’s trailer, waiting on him to find the Special K.
